Chatteris Town Council is hereby giving notice that roads in the town will be affected by a road closure on Sunday 12th November 2023 as the town commemorates Remembrance Sunday.
The Remembrance Parade will assemble in Furrowfields Car Park at 14.00 and will leave the car park at 14.30 to proceed along part of Furrowfields Road, the High Street and Market Hill to the war memorial outside the Parish Church in Market Hill. For the duration of the parade these roads, and the roads leading off, will be closed to traffic and bicycles and the diversion will be via Lode Way and Park Street, Station Road, Station Street and Railway Lane.
Once the parade arrives at the war memorial the only roads which will remain closed will be Market Hill and the very small part of the High Street which runs from the Boadicea Court junction to Market Hill.
These roads will remain closed to traffic until 15.15 when the wreath laying ceremony is complete and the crowd has dispersed. The wreath laying ceremony will be followed by a service in the Parish Church due to begin at 3pm.
If you have any queries about the proposals please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01354 695166.
